The west and northwest parts of upper Old Town overlook Toom Park. The Park features bastions built to protect medieval Reval (Tallinn) from attack. Snelli Pond is a remnant of the moat that once surrounded the town. The entire fortification was, and continues to be, quite impressive.
This area is a popular place to soak in the sun and feed the pigeons. Snelli Pond is rumored to have fish. But, evidence is in short supply despite the long poles used to dip a line in the water.
