Town Hall Square has been Old Town’s center of activity for 800 years. The Square is surrounded on three sides by outdoor cafes. The fourth side is bounded by the Town Hall complete with tower and spire reaching 210 feet (64m). At the top is a weather vane in the form of a warrior known as “Old Thomas” standing guard over the city.

The Square is the site of numerous summertime activities including souvenir & craft markets, festivals, concerts and other performances. A visitor can spend an afternoon browsing through the open-air market one day, then be amazed by its overnight transformation into a concert venue complete with elaborate stage. It seems there is always something happening here.
